What is MM2H Visa?

MM2H stands for "Malaysia My Second Home".

The MM2H programme is a long-stay programme for foreigners organised by the Malaysian government, and on average, thousands were approved each year until it was temporarily frozen in 2020. During the freeze, the programme was revised and resumed with a new operating procedure and application conditions.

MM2H allows you to stay for a maximum of 5 years by depositing a certain amount of a fixed deposit in the bank that provides services in Malaysia, providing proof of liquid assets and monthly off-shore income.

Our company (IKI LINKS (MM2H) SDN. BHD.) is an officially licensed agent of the MM2H programme since 2012, based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. We have successfully assisted numerous individuals in obtaining their MM2H visa.

We (IKI LINKS (MM2H) SDN. BHD.) are the official licensed MM2H Visa agent in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

MM2H Visa advantages

Malaysia is one of the most popular long stay country around the world
due to its climate, people diversity and affordable cost of living.

  1. 5 years residence permission

Residence permission can be granted for a maximum of 5 years.
※MM2H Visas are issued according to the remaining validity period of the applicant's passport, and will not be issued beyond that.
However, for periods of less than 5 years, the passport will be issued after the renewal of the passport (for this reason, when applying for a visa, it is preferable that the passport has a longer validity period).

  2. Visa can be renewed

Visas can be renewed after 5 years once approved by the Malaysian Immigration.

  3. Visa is applicable for family members as well

Dependents, including spouses, children, and parents over the age of 60, are eligible for the visa attached to the applicant's MM2H visa.

※Children are those who are single and under the age of 35 or children with a handicap (no age restriction, doctor's certification required).

※Children's MM2H dependent passes will become invalid when they reach the age of 35. The following options may be considered:

①Get a student pass (if you are a student) ②Get a work visa ③Finish your stay in Malaysia with an MM2H visa and adopt a social visit pass to enter Malaysia

※The visa will be issued based on the validity date of the visa or the validity date of the passport, whichever is shorter. (It is preferable to match the validity of the passport and visa.) For periods of less than 5 years, the visa will be issued after the passport has been renewed.

  4. Tax exemption for pensions

Tax exemption on pensions remitted from other countries.

MM2H Visa disadvantages

  1. Proof of financial for renewal

After the expiry of 5 years, you may request for a renewal with your latest proof of financial.

  2. Complexity of visa management

MM2H visas are issued based on the validity date of the applicant's passport. The visas of dependants will be issued based on the validity date of the applicant's visa or the validity date of each passport, whichever is shorter.
Passport validity dates for the applicant and dependents may cause differing timing for the extension process for the MM2H visa.
